Spices added to condiments, meats, confections, beverages, vegetables, wines and vinegar. As you know, meals will be tasteless without mixtures of spices. These spices will be mixed in gourmet blends to add taste in many international dishes which become common in our daily meals. Spices also can be used in medical uses such as herb which is good for sore throats, bronchitis and coughs. Moreover it’s also can use as dietary herbal supplements to lose weight and speed up your metabolism. Some spices help you to get good sleep, cleanse body and control pain. Spices and herbs are used mostly nowadays because people are become health conscious and this spices are readily available in anywhere. Plant is the most aromatic part where the spices come from the barks, fruit and seeds. So uses of this spices in our daily meals is essential for our healthy life and at the same time it prevents us from get sick. There are a lot of aromatic gourmet spices available in this world. Some of the famous aromatic gourmet spices are discussed here such as cardamom, anise, cinnamon, saffron, turmeric and cumin.

Anise

  • Anise is also known as aniseed. It has an aromatic spice which has taste like licorice. Anise adds a gourmet taste to baked foods which is cakes and cookies. Sometimes this spice used in savory dishes with cheese and eggs. This anise is available in ground form or whole seeds.

Cardamom

  • Cardamom has been used in both savory and sweet dishes, which is from curry to cake. You can find this cardamom in ground forms or pod. It would be best to buy this spice in pod form. These pods enable cardamom in spicy-sweet flavor and nice aroma.

Cinnamon

  • You can find cinnamon almost anywhere you want. This type of spice is typically used in sweet spice baked goods such as apple pie. Cinnamon also adds a gourmet touch and aromatic smell to dishes with rice, chicken or lamb. Cinnamon is available in stick or powder form.

Cumin

  • Cumin is known for its distinctive, strong aroma and has a warm flavor. You can find cumin in Indian and Mexican dishes. Cumin is also available as a ground powder or as whole seeds. To get a better flavor, toast the spice for three minutes in an empty pan before you mix other ingredients.

Saffron

  • Saffron is the most expensive spice in the world. This spice contains stigmas of the crocus flower. The flavor of saffron is described as honey-like, grassy and slightly bitter. The benefit of saffron is it’s avoiding a medicinal and metallic taste. Some people use this spice in curry, cheese and seafood meals. You can be purchased saffron as powder or as threats.

Turmeric

  • You can use turmeric as a flavoring or coloring agent. Turmeric’s yellowish hue is used for some visual purposes. This spice is available in curry powder or mustard. This spice has an aromatic smell with an earthy flavor and warm. You can use turmeric in homemade canned goods, relishes and rice dishes.
