Calories in Chicken: What Where n How
Today in the age of modern technology we have become able to know about the quality of the food, we use. Based on certain researches and studies, it is now highly recommended that you should take balanced diet. It will not only keep us fit but also play an important role in our growth and protects us from various different diseases as well. Now, in modern days people do not have much time to maintain their diet but still if we try a little bit, we can manage our balanced diet. Any balanced diet is not considered complete until chicken is not included in it. No mater you use which type of chicken, it is required to use in your balanced diet. Calories in chicken play an important role in order to maintain the structure of human body.
Different types of chicken have different amount of calories in them. Let just take a look on them. Chicken strips is the chicken meat without bones or skin. It has some other names as well which include chicken fingers, chicken fillets and chicken toes etc. Calories in chicken strips may change due to the ingredients used in it. Moreover calories in baked chicken strips are more useful than calories in fried chicken strips. One cup of fried and cooked chicken meat contains 307 calories. While baked chicken strips contain 380 calories in it.
Chicken breast is eaten with great interest. Calories in chicken breasts vary from dishes to dishes as we use different ingredients for each dish. A traditional chicken breast contains 170-180 calories for each 100g. While chicken breast with skin contains 155 calories. Thigh, drumstick, stuffing and nuggets contain 235, 225, 230 and 240 calories in them respectively. Each 3 oz of chicken breast you eat contain 140 calories. 3 oz of plan baked chicken contain 110 calories in it. 4 ounces of grilled chicken breast and fried chicken breast contains 184 and 218 calories in them respectively.
We are just focusing on the amount of calories in chicken and not the other things. It is obvious that chicken in any form does not contain calories only. It also includes fat, nutrients and protein etc. You can reduce the amount of calories in chicken by keeping the dish as simple as possible because the heavier the dish, the more will be calories in it. Amount of calories in chicken also reduced by removing the skin from it. For example baked chicken breast with skin contains 220 calories while on the other hand if skin is removed then it contains 188 calories. Same is the case with other parts of the chicken meat. Moreover calories in chicken are lesser than calories in other white meats. Chicken is an important source of energy and many different dishes are made using it so you have to conscious about calories that you are getting out of it. This will not only keep the level of cholesterol at minimum percentage but also keeps you in better health. I am sure that by having some consciousness about it you will surely enjoy chicken meals.
