Paraffin wax candles let out benzene, mercury, and lead. Today, everything seems to centre on eco-friendly. We should be concerned as we are responsible for maintaining a clean and healthy environment. It makes sense to reduce pollution and protect the environment. So in this article we are going to learn how to make the candles in an eco-friendly way. You can make these candles can from beeswax and soy wax, which are readily available. The good thing about these candles is that they do not contain harmful chemicals. This is one good way in saving the environment. In the first three steps, we will learn to make beeswax candle and the following steps will explain the method of making soy wax candles.

Step One
Beeswax Candles
It is easier to use beeswax sheet instead of other forms. The colours of beeswax range from cloudy white to brown. The colour of wax depends on the colour of flower from where bees get nectar. Take a piece of beeswax sheet and cut it to your desired length and breath. Lay the piece on a clean work area. Then lay the piece of wick on the edge of the piece of beeswax directly in front of you. At least half an inch of the piece of wick should extend at each side of the piece of beeswax sheet.
Step Two
Start rolling the beeswax sheet slowly and carefully. Roll up your candle slowly and carefully with your fingers pushing the beeswax with both hands exerting even pressure at the same time, so that your candle is straight and will burn well.
Step Three
Once you have finished rolling the sheet now you have to seal it to ensure it does not open. While rolling the last folds ensure it is very tight for a long lasting candle. To seal you have to press hard enough that your candle is sealed. Do not press too hard else the candle will break. Your Beeswax candle is ready for use.
Step Four
Soy Wax Candles
Put the soy wax in a pan and slowly heat on medium fire until the soy wax melts completely. Remove from heat. Add the fragrance oil and stir until all the fragrance oil is absorbed in the soy wax. You can even mix a wax dye to add colour of your choice.
Step Five
Pour the melted soy wax gently in the jar and position the wick in the centre. Use a clothespin or pencil to keep your wick in the centre. When the wax has turned solid, you can trim the wick to half inch. Burn your soy candle and enjoy it!
